What is the best file to upload for custom stickers? For most artwork, use a clean, high-resolution PNG with a transparent background or an accepted vector file. Artwork File Types: Which Should You Use?

The live uploader determines which formats are accepted for the selected ordering workflow. If your file cannot be uploaded, export a high-resolution PNG or contact support before checkout.

What Does 300 DPI Mean for Stickers?

DPI/PPI describes the relationship between image pixels and physical print size. A 3-inch-wide design at 300 pixels per inch needs about 900 pixels across. A 2.5-inch design needs about 750 pixels across. A larger image can be reduced cleanly; enlarging a tiny screenshot does not create missing detail. Vector artwork is resolution-independent until rasterized.

Bleed, Cut Lines and Safe Areas

Cut line: The intended contour of a die-cut sticker. Bleed: Extra background image extending outside the final cut so tiny alignment tolerances do not produce unintended unprinted borders. Safe area: An inset zone where important text, faces and logos stay away from the trimming edge.

If your image goes all the way to the edge, continue the background past the proposed cut rather than stopping exactly at it. Keep critical design details away from the perimeter. The exact production tolerance depends on artwork and order type; inspect the cut path shown in the Sticker Maker rather than assuming a universal bleed measurement.

How to Make a Transparent Background

1. Remove the background in your design program instead of filling it with white if you want a custom contour.
2. Export in PNG format with transparency enabled.
3. Reopen the exported file and inspect the edges at high zoom for stray pixels or unintended halos.
4. Upload the file and verify the cut shape in the on-screen preview.

Be careful with white designs: white artwork on a transparent background can be hard to see against a light preview canvas.

Preparing Artwork for Clear Stickers and White Ink

Transparent film does not create a white background for colored ink. When print opacity matters, white ink can be printed underneath chosen elements. Decide which parts should remain transparent and which parts need solid white support. The exact white-ink workflow and visual preview depend on the selected product. Do not assume all clear artwork receives a full white flood.

RGB, CMYK and Brand Color Expectations

Digital screens emit light while printed vinyl reflects light. Colors can differ because of the screen, ink gamut, media color, laminate, lighting and print profile. Upload a clean original, avoid extreme neon colors unless you have tested them, and ask about strict brand-color requirements before ordering. Can I print a screenshot?

A screenshot may contain too few pixels, compression and unwanted artifacts. The original image, vector logo or high-resolution export is usually better.

Do I need to create the cut line myself?

Usually not for standard sticker designs. Inspect the proposed contour generated by the customizer. Complex cut lines and special applications should be discussed with the team first.

Will a high DPI number fix a blurry image?

No. Changing the DPI label without adding real pixel information cannot restore fine detail.

Can AI-generated images be printed?
