The IronClad material system has been tested for long-term performance and is designed for five-year outdoor durability on properly prepared vertical surfaces under normal exposure conditions.

Actual finished-label service life depends on the ink, laminate, surface type, surface preparation, installation, orientation, temperature cycling, UV exposure, abrasion, chemicals, cleaners, and maintenance.

Adhesion and Surface Compatibility

The IronClad permanent adhesive is designed for high initial tack and strong final adhesion. Tested adhesion performance exceeds 6 pounds per inch after 24 hours on stainless steel.

This tested value describes performance on the specified test surface. It does not guarantee the same result on every machine, coating, plastic, texture, or contaminated surface.

The adhesive system is designed for many hard-to-stick, low-surface-energy plastics, including polyethylene and polypropylene, on smooth or slightly textured flat surfaces. It can also be suitable for many painted, coated, and bare-metal equipment surfaces.

Apply labels to a clean, dry surface free from dust, oil, wax, silicone, rust, and cleaning residue. Adhesive performance can vary significantly on textured surfaces, powder-coated metal, low-surface-energy plastics, flexible materials, contaminated equipment, and uneven substrates.

Allow the adhesive time to build bond strength before exposing the label to washing, heavy abrasion, chemicals, or extreme environmental conditions.

Chemical and Temperature Exposure

The IronClad material system has demonstrated resistance during prolonged saltwater exposure testing under controlled conditions.

The laminated finished surface is designed to resist moisture and routine cleaning, but no label construction is universally resistant to every solvent, degreaser, fuel, oil, acid, alkali, disinfectant, or industrial chemical.

Tested material performance extends from below −50°F to above 200°F on the specified test surface. The minimum recommended application temperature is 32°F.

These are manufacturer test values for the base media under stated conditions. Finished-label performance also depends on the ink, laminate, surface, exposure duration, installation, and environment. Customers with chemical, heat, cold, pressure-washing, or safety-critical requirements should perform application-specific testing before ordering production quantities.

Artwork Recommendations

Upload a high-resolution PDF, SVG, AI, EPS, PNG, or JPG file. Vector artwork is strongly recommended for safety symbols, small lettering, barcodes, diagrams, and line art. Raster artwork should be approximately 300 pixels per inch at the final printed size.

Choose a finished size that keeps all required text legible. Avoid screenshots, compressed website images, and small graphics enlarged beyond their original resolution.

The customer is responsible for reviewing and approving the wording, symbols, colors, dimensions, layout, and placement requirements contained in the submitted design.

Compliance and Safety Notice

The IronClad construction uses material components recognized for UL 969 “Marking and Labeling Systems” in the United States and CSA C22.2 No. 0.15 “Adhesive Labels” in Canada.

This base-material recognition does not automatically make every custom printed, laminated, converted, or installed IronClad label compliant or certified for a particular end use. The complete printed label system, ink, laminate, construction, substrate, environment, and application may require separate evaluation.

Industrial Production and Free U.S. Shipping

Print-ready, fully paid orders submitted before 12:00 PM Eastern Time can begin production the same day. IronClad production includes controlled curing and outgassing before lamination and cutting.

Allow approximately 2–4 business days for IronClad production, depending on artwork, quantity, drying conditions, and finishing requirements. Sticker Swan production operates seven days a week, but carrier handoff occurs only after the required drying, lamination, cutting, inspection, and packaging steps are complete.

USPS carrier handoffs are available Monday through Saturday, and UPS carrier handoffs occur Monday through Friday. Shipping transit time begins after the carrier accepts the package.
